Shimanto River & Katsurahama Beach (Shikoku)

Shimanto River is a river in western Kochi Prefecture, Shikoku Island of Japan.
It's referred to as the last clean river in Japan.

Yakatabune, houseboat, provide a tour round Shimanto River.

 Fishing and production of nori is a thriving industry along the river.





Chinkabashi, low water crossing without parapets, is designed in order not to be washed away by floods.

Shimanto River has 47 chinkabashi including those of tributaries.

Katsurahama, a shore spreading out into a bow form, is situated in Kochi City.

Tourists are looking for five colors of small stones on beach and picking up.

It faces azure Pacific Ocean.

Watatsumi Shrine, also known as Ryuogu, dragon king temple.


Katsurahama is known as a famous spot of moon viewing from ancient times.
