Komagatake Senjojiki is a cirque formed some 20,000 years ago by a slowly receding glacier which eroded away the land. It's located in Japan's Central Alps, and at an elevation of 2,612m at the end of the Komagatake Ropeway in Komagane, Nagano.

The ropeway is 2,334m long with 950m of Japan's largest difference in height, takes to Senjojiki station in just 7 minute and 30 second.

Higurashi-no-taki falls
Senjojiki station (Hotel Senjojiki), a terminal station of the ropeway at 2,612m above sea level. It's Japan's highest station or hotel.
Senjojiki Cirque is a semi-circle basin eroded by a glacier. 'Senjojiki' means 'an area spreading a thousand tatami mats'.

Kengaike Pond is a bottom in Senjojiki, and a popular photo spot.
